Richard Hokin. L-M 2

- Who can forget the most iconic photos ever taken of a sailboat racing the S.O.R.C in the

Gulf Stream?

TYD#744. The reason that I brought the subject up is because I just received, through social media a

message from Richard Hokin, the original owner of this 38ft. aluminum I.O.R racer and built by

Palmer-Johnson.in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

- Text: It's been a while but recently I was looking at an old posting on Steve Dashew's website and saw

a comment that you had made around the time Steve and Linda announced their retirement.

- Thought you might be interested to know that after being dormant for about 40 years, Wendy and I

have resurrected the Love Machine name for our current boat. an FPB 64. This time number 7. Hope

all's well with you. Thanks for helping start a very healthy, benign, and rewarding addiction.

 Jean- Marie Finot.

Born in 1941, Deceased April 2, 2025.

- Disparition de Jean-Marie Finot, un grand dans l'hemisphere de l'architecture navale.

-Practically, born to be at the beginning of the boom de la "plaisance en France" and on a very large

scale, with tens of thousands of boats built to his designs.

- Also the first I believe, to use computers as drawing tools to develop Naval Architecture for

pleasure boats.

- If you are interested in Yacht Racing, it is hard to forget Revolution.
