CT44

 - TYD#811.

- The Tanton CT44 was also built in Taiwan by Ta Chiao.  She differs from the T43 by adopting a

conventional cutter rig over the Cat-Ketch free- standing carbon fiber masts Sail Plan.

- But also, and very important, an increase of the draft by 12", in order to conserve the stability

characteristics of the cat-ketch-,fitted with much lighter masts. She still features a draft of only 6ft.

light-ship or so depending on the carrying load.

- This version called for a different Accommodation Plan, partially due to the mast location, obviously

very different from the 2 masted cat-ketch.

- You will notice the placement of the engine, smack in the middle, which I prefer if given the

opportunity. The engine presents a substantial amount of non-movable weight and therefore

contributes to the best trim for the boat. With access all around, more maintenance is a strong

argument for its location.

- to be continued.
