SIX
The visual success of the 6 Metre World Championship, held by the Seawanhaka Corinthian
Yacht-Club, Oyster Bay, made me think.
- Excellent venue with a King and many of the Old Guard.
As far as the boats are concerned. If a new excursion within the 6 M. Rules, so far has not been proved
to work, the large fleet was interesting to watch. My Design follows my thoughts after observing the
very well-done videos covering the racecourse,
- This new 6M. is a study, and if I did not take penalties within the Measurement Rules for Freeboard
in the Class.
-The Intention behind the design of a bustle is to increase the volume aft and therefore, possibly
increase the speed under heavier air. It is all about, the distribution of a given displacement over the
waterline length.
- Admittedly, I am getting a drawing for a light air oriented 6M, with the near absence of added
volume aft, and forward for that matter.
So, what is the deal? I drew the slimmest waistline of a Midship Section, to maximize the
fullness of the bow and stern without artificially distorting the Lines.
All, to get a correct Prismatic Coefficient with the minimum Length to Displacement ratio dictated by
the Rating Rule.
